Goodbye to Paradise

December 31, 2004

I moved house today. It was a real sweat, really stressful on a lot of
levels. I did a lot of it myself, and got rid of most of my stuff, so it
was physically exhausting. But it was emotionally pretty hectic as well.
I have a Cancer rising so feeling safe and comfortable in a home is
pretty important to me. It was really hard for me to give it up, and to
give away so many ‘precious’ things. Enjoy the TV, Anne.
But I feel lighter now, more ready to travel.
I have spent the past two and a half years in paradise, a little
fisherman’s cottage in beautiful Kalk Bay. It’s been the best time of my
life, and I will never forget this place. It’s truly wonderful.
But the time has come. I need to go meet Dearly Beloved in London, and
it’s not going to happen if I am sitting in my comfort zone here on the
glorious False Bay coast.

So now I am homeless. I am house sitting and sleeping on couches for the
forseeable future, until I can get it together to get to Babylon. Sorry,
I mean England.

I hope that everyone who reads this blog (both of you) turn up at the
street party and have an absolutely wonderful time. Otherwise, all the
best….

Hi Walton, quite a pain moving out on New Year’s Eve! Hope you enjoyed the party, sorry I missed it but I had some fun myself.

Christopher’s comment is quite amusing, I think I’ll add his blog to my list just for fun. So many American’s are caught up in a worldview seeing everything as Republican/Democrat or conservative/liberal – he probably thinks you would have voted for Kerry :) How somebody can read some thoughts on Class in South Africa and then just label you liberal I don’t know.

True, I could be out of my depth. I was only referring to specific posts by Walton that I found “liberal” in content. I have since read more, and know he’s just a regular person with quite diverse views on many things. I hope you are reading my LEAVWORLD blog, and for the more interesting stuff, http://WWW.NEXTLEAV.BLOGSPOT.COM. I want to know more about your take on your local, national, and world political views, and your view of our local politics. You might be surprised to find such a Bush supporter as myself fighting against the Republican party in New York State. I enjoy reading foreign points of view that are not from the media. That’s what you get on my blog from the US.
